About the Role

The Outbound Sales Development Representative is a dynamic, results-driven professional tasked with generating new business opportunities and promoting Merchant West’s suite of financial products and services, including Wealth Management, Asset Finance, Equipment Leasing, and Working Capital Solutions. This role focuses on proactive outreach to a targeted client base, leveraging CRM systems, Merchant West databases, and external market data to identify and pursue opportunities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast- paced, target-driven environment and possesses a hunger for sales success.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively contact prospective business clients via phone, email, and other outbound channels to introduce Merchant West’s financial products
  • Develop and manage a personal sales pipeline, nurturing prospects from initial engagement to successful deal closure
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across various industries
  • Identify client needs through effective questioning and propose tailored finance solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless sales process and exceptional client experience
  • Utilize CRM tools to track activities, manage follow-ups, and maintain accurate, timely sales records
  • Meet or exceed individual KPIs and sales targets related to outreach activity, conversion rates, and revenue generation
  • Support marketing campaign execution by targeting specific sectors, asset classes, or customer profiles in alignment withmarketing strategies
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments to maintain a competitive edge
Qualifications
  • Matric
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and persuade key decision-makers
  • High level of commercial awareness and understanding of client needs in a B2B context
  • Ability to thrive in a target-driven, high-energy sales environment
  • Knowledge of financial services industry trends and regulations is desirable but not mandatory
Experience
  • Proven experience in outbound sales, preferably within the financial services or B2B sector
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline and close deals effectively
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track and manage client interactions an advantage
  • Familiarity with financial products such as wealth management, asset finance, equipment leasing, or working capital solutions is advantageous
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating with marketing teams to execute targeted campaigns is a plus
