Merchant West Fleet is a division of Merchant West Group, the largest independently owned financial services business in South Africa, with a 25-year track record of excellence. The Merchant West Fleet division was founded in 2009 by the current management team, who set about developing their own vehicle leasing system, while consulting to the local fleet services management industry. Since early 2015, we have grown steadily, while carefully crafting our systems and processes to meet our client’s unique fleet services needs.

How We Manage Your Fleet
The decision-making process when purchasing vehicles for your business is not as simple as buying the cheapest vehicle, as the consequences of making the incorrect choice could be disastrous for any business. Provide the customer with leasing and fleet management solution that removes the pain points originally identified and ensures the necessary cost saving benefits are achieved.
- Providing the customer with a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis which will assist with vehicle selection.
- On-going usage management of the fleet
- Provide an optimal vehicle replacement plan to determine when a vehicle should be replaced.
- Any other services that will assist the customer in managing the fleet more effectively:
- vehicle telematics (driver behavior management),
- annual licenece renewals,
- periodic vehicle inspections.

- Geographical location of where vehicles will be operating. After sales supplier support, off-road or tar road application
- Estimated monthly distance to be travelled. Used to determine usage over time.
- Analyse the customers’ current vehicle operating costs and identify anomalies that require intervention.
