No, this is a usage-based product. The vehicle needs to be returned to us at the end of the lease period.
Can I use my own insurance company, or do I have to insure through your insurance?
Yes, you can use your own insurance. We will require proof of insurance noting our interest in the asset.
Are services covered?
Yes, Services and fair wear and tear maintenance is covered.
How often will my vehicle need to be serviced?
It needs to be serviced according to the manufacturer’s services schedule.
Does it come with a fuel card?
No, you can make your own arrangements for fuel and top up oil purchases.
Are Tyres covered?
Yes, due to normal fair wear tear only. Damaged tyres and Puncture repair is not covered
Is wheel alignment and balancing covered?
Yes, however you must let the service provider know that they need to contact the Merchant West Fleet maintenance call centre on 0861 99 7779 for Authorisation.
Will you book the vehicle in for servicing?
No, you, the user of the vehicle needs to ensure that the vehicle is serviced according to the prescribed service intervals.
What if I miss a service?
This could result in the loss of the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty which is a breach of the Master Rental Agreement.
How do I service my vehicle?
You contact the closest dealership to yourself, book the vehicle in and advise the service agent that they must contact the Merchant West Fleet maintenance call centre on 0861 99 7779 for any Authorisation required.
Will I get a rental vehicle if my vehicle goes in for maintenance?
No, you would need to make your own arrangements.
Will I get a rental vehicle if the vehicle goes in for insurance repairs?
No, we strongly recommend that you include a vehicle rental option in your insurance policy schedule.
What happens if I do more mileage than the contract states?
The usage of the vehicle will be monitored by us, based on your monthly ODO updates. We look at the average monthly kilometres and we will restructure the lease agreement if it is exceeding the contract kilometres.
Who does the annual license renewal?
Merchant West Fleet will renew the annual license disk, in the month that it expires, and courier it to you.
Will the vehicle automatically be collected at the end of the lease?
Yes, our collection agent will contact you a few weeks before the end of the agreement to make arrangements.
What if I no longer want the vehicle?

Are there penalties when I return the vehicle?
No, but the vehicle must be returned to us in fair wear and tear condition, including the spare key.
